the button isn’t even being pressed and it doesn’t even show charge sign or battery percentage of the pencil when it is attached to my iPad. Also after I bought this pencil strange black marks started appearing on the charging side of the pencil. Could it be related? My iPad is iPad Pro m4 11inch

What button are you referring to? The Pencil Pro doesn’t have any buttons. The Pencil Pro should still be covered under the manufacturer warranty so you can reach out to Apple directly (in-store, by phone, or online/support app) for assistance. Not sure about strange black marks unless they are scuff marks if you are sliding the pencil on to charge (possibly). Unless you take it to be inspected by Apple or an authorized repair facility it would be impossible for anyone to tell you what those marks are and if they could play a part in whatever your issue is. Also, have you tried unpairing the pencil from your iPad and then pairing it back again?
