Link / sync MacBook Air AOL to Samsung Galaxy?

I have an active 3rd party Yahoo app 'AOL Mail' on a new Samsung Galaxy phone. Problem is the password I regularly use on the Samsung for the AOL Mail account now longer seems to work for my 'AOL Mail' in MacBook. AOL repeatedly asks for a saved password when trying to reopen in MacBook, which password I have forgotten - unfortunately. It appears to me that MacBook and Samsung might just have separate passwords for AOL Mail?? Is there any way to possibly 'sync' the two devices so one AOL Mail password applies to both?

I do hope my question is not too confusing? Thank you.

Mac's Mail App is not as modern as iOS's Mail app, Many eMail providers now require a separate App Password different from your eMail password…

If it's a single account in AOL, then no, your two devices won't have separate passwords for accessing that account. It's possible that the password is being held incorrectly in the Keychain on your Mac. Open Keychain Access in your Mac and look for any passwords associate with AOL. If you find one, delete it and then try adding your AOL email account to your Mac again, or signing in with your working password if the account is already in Mail.

Hope this helps. Regards.
