I have first generation HomePods that when I try to use as my default audio output with my new 4K Apple TV it does not even bring the stereo paired HomePods up as an option for default audio output only temporary audio output. How do I fix this?
This happened to me even though they were assigned the same room. I fixed it by assigning the Homepods to a different room, restarting the Homepods and ATV then assigning the Homepods back to the same room.
A glitch in the recent software update I think.
They need to be assigned to the same room as the Apple TV
