stolen bike airtag not found

Hi, anyone would know why after 2 weeks of looking for a stolen bike, the airtag inside of it wasn't even discovered once after having been reported stolen, and then casually reconnects only after randomly finding the bike while having dinner in a busy city?

AirTag Stolen - No Longer in ‘Find My’ Hello, an AirTag connected to my son’s car keys were stolen with his car… of course. The AirTag disappeared from my ‘Find My’. A couple of weeks late, I received an alert, via Safari, that AirTag is connected to my number and I must remove the battery to disable it. Well, I do t have the AirTag. What should I do?

Do you mean that 2 weeks after your bike went missing the AirTag location was displayed in FindMy? If not enough devices connected to the FindMy network pass by the bike, it will not update a location. AirTags are not GPS trackers and require devices that participate in the FindMy network to be nearby and establish a connection.
