Why is the App Store charging me for free apps?

okay, so i literally have a card connected to my id or whatever and i cant download anything.

i checked my transactions on it and it turns out whenever i try to download anything or verify my card, its requesting money???umm..


and i know its not the fact that im broke thats the problem--ive downloded stuff with no money on my card before. what's the problem now?

You have signed up for a subscription or have a previous purchase that has not been paid and you still owe money for that. You will not be able to continue to use the App Store until those have been paid.


Check for your subscriptions and cancel any you do not want by going here:

You need a functioning payment method for your account. Even to download free apps, to re-download or to update apps. As long as your payment method has no funds available, you won't be able to use your account to download any content.

Thank you for the update. I am glad you got those subscriptions cancelled. In the future, watch out for those Free Trials, they are perfect to give you a chance to review the service to see if you would benefit from a subscription, but you must cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends to avoid any charges. The Free Trial is a contract that you agree to pay for a subscription if it is not cancelled, so if there is any chance you may forget to cancel, at least set a Reminder to make sure you get that free trial cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
