I am watching Sunny on Apple TV. Some of the Japanese dialogue does not have subtitles. Is this deliberate or are the settings incorrect? I am watching in English with subtitles set to auto.

I also believe it is deliberate. In the few instances where that occurs, we are left to wonder what a person has said just like Suzie, since she needs the translator to understand the language. It's actually pretty clever, even though I am not a fan of captioned movies anyway. Also, you are using the correct settings.

I think it is deliberate where the Suzie character isn’t able to follow the conversation.
Definitely an annoying bug. Some people suggest it’s because Susie is not meant to understand but there’s an episode without Susie and it’s about Masa’s past. After 20 or so minutes in Japanese without subtitles I stopped watching. What a waste of time.
