iPhone 14 Pro Max Black Screen After Charging

I have woken up multiple times now to my iPhone 14 Pro Max having a black screen in the mornings. The sound it on so when I unlock the phone and lock it again, I can hear the "click" sound, but I see nothing. Haptic feedback even works. I tried guessing where the brightness slider was and found it, and got the haptic feedback when I reached full brightness, but again, black screen.

My phone is completely up to date. I've looked this up and I tried the recommend volume up, volume down, then hold the power button. That fixed it and reset the phone, which is great, but my question is why isn't this fixed?! It has caused me to miss alarms!!
