Mac System CPU Usage Being Too High

I'm using a MacBook Air M3 (13'') with 16 GB memory and 512 GB storage. I bought it brand new from Apple Store in July 2024.

Over the past two weeks, I often encounter this issue: when I was having the same number of tabs and applications opened (the User CPU usage was about 15%). Then suddenly the system usage (i.e. kernel task) goes to 80%, sometimes 100%, causing the computer to be extremely frozen. There were points at which I got the message that system running out of memory even though the same number of applications/tabs caused no issue before.

This happens everyday, usually in the evening, but only last for about 10-15 minutes before the system's CPU usage goes down to normal again. This is especially annoying when I'm doing time-sensitive things (like a meeting). Other than that, the computer works smoothly even when I have 10+ applications open and 30+ Google Chrome tabs on. Any suggestion to fix this would be much appreciated. My computer was too frozen when the issue happended so I had to take pictures on my phone.
