There are lots of articles telling you how to make a more secure password. But, if you chose one that is hard for you to remember and you write it down somewhere, you've defeated the purpose.
One of the best pieces of advice I've been given is to choose a phrase or quote that has meaning to you. For example: Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party! That could become Nittfagm2c2taotp!
But even more important, as FoxFifth said, enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Here is a screenshot of a app from the Appstore. StrongPasswords. Just make sure that there isn't characters that are next to each other when creating one and occasionally that app will do that.
