updating software on old phone

when i go to settings, general, then software updates: there is no option to update my phone further. It stops at iOS12.5.7.



How do i get to update it further mannually?

If it was an iPhone that was eligible for updates, but had been kept from automatically updating, it would be offering you the option to update.


Since it isn't, it is an iPhone 5s, 6, or 6 Plus. No updates are, or will be, available. If you need to run modern apps, it is time to replace that outdated iPhone.


The iPhone 5s came out eleven years ago and ran iOS 7.0 at the time. It got five major version updates. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus came out ten years ago and ran iOS 8.0 at the time. They got four major version updates. These three phones only have 1 GB of RAM. All iPhones that can update past iOS 12 have more.
