Epson Software, the Latest?

I use an iMac M1, from 2021. [While it may seem Old, I use a Solid-state Drive.] I use also an Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4830 printer.

My copy of Epson Software Updater reports, "New software is available." [Oh, Joy!]

But Epson Driver and Utilities appears grayed-out. Below, I see further:

"On OS X 10.6 and later, the latest driver is distributed via Apple Inc.'s Software Update."

WHERE DO I FIMD Apple Inc.'s Software Update with the latest Epson driver, Please? Thank you.

Thank you. :-)

The Epson printer docs, website, and firmware details unfortunately have gaps.

That printer does support AirPrint, which means you don't need add-on drivers.

Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support

You'll want to check for current firmware either from the printer control panel, or from the printer's built-in web interface, or however that printer updates its firmware. (I've checked the docs, website, and user manual, and that update detail is missing.)

There's recovery firmware disk image from 2022, if all else fails: https://epson.com/Support/Printers/All-In-Ones/WorkForce-Series/Epson-WorkForce-Pro-WF-4830/s/SPT_C11CJ05201?review-filter=macOS+14.x#drivers

AirPrint, while easy, almost always lacks many features found in the full drivers. For instance, our Xerox VersaLink C405.

This is all I get with the AirPrint option. My only choice for color control is on or off. There's nothing under Media & Quality, or anywhere else. That doesn't cut it for color management. You get what you get without any color options for the user. None.

With the full drivers, I get this.

Under Color Matching, I can tell the OS to use ColorSync, and my custom profile for plain copy paper.

Related to that under Xerox Features is the very necessary ability to tell the printer to not use any automatic color control. You must be able to disable all such auto junk, or your profiles can't work.

None of this is possible under AirPrint.
