Macbook pro trackpad cursor speed is slow and sometimes delayed

Using the trackpad on the laptop, the cursor is so slow and sometimes delayed. I checked in System and the settings are still the same. I tried adjusting it to see if that would impact it at all. It did not. I tried restarting the computer. Didn't work. I checked for updates and updated accordingly. Didn't work. Tried putting computer in low battery mode. Didn't work. Any other ideas I could try to get my trackpad cursor back to normal? Nothing out of the ordinary happened to my laptop like spills or heavy objects falling on it. I do have a bluetooth magic mouse hooked up.
