Will AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) purchased from Amazon be able to get the hearing aid software update?

There seems to be confusion as to whether the AirPods Pro 2 at the Apple store are the same as the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) from Amazon. I got conflicting info from chats with both Amazon and Apple. Amazon said they are the same. Apple said they are different and the coming software update will not work with the Amazon ones. Apple also said the "Pro 2" were on Pre-Order. However, when I went to the store, it said they would ship today.

It doesn’t matter where they are purchased. They are the same product.

As long as they are real AirPods Pro 2nd generation and not fakes, it doesn’t matter where you bought them.

This is counter to what the Apple rep told me over the phone. She said the Pro (2nd Generation) on Amazon are the 2023 model and the "Pro 2" are updated with the ability to receive the "Hearing aid" software update.

The Amazon chat told me the two models were the same.

I went with the Apple phone rep, based in the USA, versus the Amazon chat from a foreign country. I ordered them from Apple for $249 instead of Amazon for $189.
