Is apple going to make waterproof air pods or headphones for swimming?

I'm interested in buying waterproof headphones for swimming and water aerobics.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 17

No one here would have an answer for your question. We will all know when Apple makes a public announcement for such products that support full water proofing.

Their recently announced AirPods are now IP54 rated.

An IP54 rating indicates a device's protection level against both solid particles and liquids:

  • 5 Protection against dust. The device isn't completely dust-tight, but it prevents enough dust from entering to avoid interference with its operation.
  • 4 Protection against water splashes from any direction. The device can withstand splashes, but it is not waterproof and cannot be submerged in water.

This means an IP54-rated device is moderately dust-resistant and can handle light exposure to water, such as rain or splashes, but isn't suited for activities like swimming or immersion in water.
