How to Prevent Audi Phone Box Wireless Charger from Activating Apple Wallet?

I have an Audi with a phone box wireless charging pad, and every time I place my iPhone on it to charge, Apple Wallet keeps popping up, activating contactless payments. I understand this is due to the NFC chip in the phone, but is there a way to prevent this from happening while still being able to use wireless charging?

This appears to be common in a number of car models. I found this suggestion on another site:

Locate the option "Face ID & Passcode".
Authenticate with your face ID or passcode. Scroll down to the section "Allow Access When Locked" and turn "Wallet" to OFF. ...
The settings outlined above will effectively suppress the appearance of the Apple Pay pop-up and enable you to utilize the App-based key for access.

I don't have a wireless charging system in my car so I can't verify that it will work, but it's worth a try.
