AirPort Time Capsule & Virgin Media WiFi

Can you provide us with a link to the new Virgin Media Wi-Fi router that you will be using......so we can check the available ports and specifications for the device?

Assuming that the Time Capsule is compatible with the Virgin Media Wi-Fi router, you will need to reset the Time Capsule back to factory default network settings and then set it up again to work the Virgin router. The Time Capsule must connect to the Virgin router using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection.

This will not affect any of the stored data on the Time Capsule disk.

Likely fine. The only thing that might trip you up is if you want to use WPA3 security. The TC might be old enough that your network cannot connect it in a WPA3 with WPA2 fallback network (the default).

In that case you would be forced to turn off WPA3 and use WPA2.

If the Virgin Media router will be providing a Wi-Fi network that has WPA3 capability, the best way to set up the Time Capsule would be to turn off the Wi-Fi on the Time Capsule and not use it all.

In other words as I mentioned above.....the Time Capsule will connect to the Virgin Media router using Ethernet. The Time Capsule will be functioning only a simple network drive. It will not be providing a Wi-Fi signal at all.

I haven't used their service, but I can't see why it wouldn't work unless any router they provide would have an internal firewall that would block the connection and that you can't turn off or alter, something I consider unlikely but when it comes to the devices Internet providers supply I will never say never. Perhaps someone else here will have specific experience.
