All of my roommates have ordered me to disable the shutter sound on my iPhone 11. Failing that, they demand that I cease using the camera for any reason at all or throw my phone away. I can’t afford to replace my phone. How do I disable this horrible sound?

Use the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone.

Changing the camera setting to Live will eliminate the sound. You can make this the default setting or remember to do it every single time you take a photo while around the bothered person.
