Bought a new Apple TV 3rd generation remote. Battery drains very quickly, within a few days. I have re-paired it a couple times and that did not help. Any thoughts? Thanks

I talked to Apple. They suggested I take the remote back to Target since I only had it for 2 weeks. I swapped it at Target and the new one works perfectly fine. So it wasn't software or settings, it was just a bad remote in my case.

Verify that the charging resulted in a 100% charge level.
Check the Siri Remote battery level - Apple Support
If it did, and still drains quickly, then contact Apple about that, as it comes with warranty.
happening to me as well. I tried that turning it off and on. Didn't help. I trying to pair it, it says "get your remote close to the Apple TV".
Not sure what to do?
Mine is out of warranty purchased it in Feb 2023.

Mine just started doing this as well. I’ve tried in pairing it and re pairing it as well and nothing changed. Still drains fast.
I think it’s a software issue.
