Can I partition my old iMac 27", keep the old data in one partition and use the second to mirror my main iMac M3?

Team, can anyone give me a step by step guide to achieve the following? I have an old iMac 27" which was our home computer. I now have a second Mac M3 in my home office. So both are in different locations but on the same wifi.

The M3 is the main computer of use but my wife would like to access documents, photos, email etc (all In iCloud) from he old 27".

So Can I partition the 27" to keep all the old data, emails etc and use the other partition to mirror the main M3 in real time?

Thanks

iMac 24″, macOS 14.6

Boy I sure wouldn't go down the rabbit hole. I would either use File Sharing as already suggested by BDAqua or if the old Mac can get onto iCloud use iCloud to sync your files between devices. The problem you may run into with iCloud is if you have large libraries of items such as:

  • music library
  • photos library
  • movie library

due to iCloud space. To be honest File Sharing may be the best solution. If you have never setup file sharing follow Apple's advice in Set up file sharing on Mac - Apple Tugi (EE)
