for a few days now whenever i scroll through insta stories i randomly get various pop up ads. it usually happens when i am watching an insta story for a bit longer, and i press on a story to pause it. i installed an anti virus but it did not detect anything and the ads keep on appearing randomly. do i have a virus? i did use a public wifi a couple of days ago. how can i get rid of it? thanks!
No you do not have a virus. All pop ups such as that one are scams designed to get you to purchase unnecessary software or phish for personal information.
Get rid of your anti-virus software, it is useless on an iPhone.
Uninstall the antivirus software, it’s useless on iOS devices.
any of the pop ups claiming you have viruses are scam ads served to you by the website you are on.
They are designed to scare you into buying useless software.
They should be ignored.
If you don’t want to keep seeing them, stop going to websites that serve you such ads.
