Apple pay works on my iphone, but on my macbook air m1, when I click on add card it hangs - spinning wheel forever and I have to force quit. No terms and conditions, click - hang forever.

Just hold down the shift key at startup and hold it down until Desktop appears. If you get a spinning ball, you’ve got system issues and adding a payment method is the least of your issues.
Do you know how to do a Safe Boot?
I've booted into recovery, tried to do safe boot but never works. Just boots regular or recovery.
