Listening with headphones via wired (USB-C) connection

When connecting headphones (which support both Bluetooth and wired connections) to my iPhone via a USB-c to USB-c cable, after the iPhone asks if I want to use the accessory as headphones, the phone continues to connect to the headphones via Bluetooth rather than the wired connection.

The only way to overide this, as far as I can tell, is to disable Bluetooth on the phone. Is there a way to have the audio output default to USB-C when it is connected, rather than using Bluetooth?

Thanks!

As far as I understand, iOS does not provide a native setting to automatically prioritize a wired connection over Bluetooth when both are connected.

Forget Bluetooth Device:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  • Tap the i icon next to your headphones.
  • Select Forget This Device.
  • When you connect the headphones via USB-C, it will prioritize the wired connection. You can later pair the Bluetooth connection again when needed.
