Is there an option to mute all sound on iPad Pro, i.e. 'disconnect' the output speaker?

I did Google search on how to stop all speaker sounds on my iPad17.6.1. Got a few responses, all suggesting to turn Silent Mode on in order to turn iPad's sound off. However, when I turn Silent Mode on, it says iPad will still play sound from alarms, timers, music, and audio from videos. This is not my idea of turning all speaker sounds off. Is there not an option that will mute all sound, i.e. 'disconnect' the output speaker?

Total muting of sound, including all alerts and alarms, is achieved using the iPad's volume control...

  • Open the Control Centre: Swipe downwards from the upper-right corner of the screen to expose the Control Centre, then swipe downwards on the Volume Control slider. When fully muted, the associated speaker icon will be seen to have a strikeout.

  • Using the physical Volume Control buttons on the edge of the iPad. While either of the physical Volume Control buttons are depressed, you will see an on-screen volume indication bar.

To unmute, simply reverse the process using either control method.
