Why does 2024 iPad Pro have no trade in value

I was curious and inputted trade-in information for my current iPad Pro 2024 M4, and it came up as free recycling. This device costed me over $2000 and there is no trade-in amount? Is there a reason for this?

Apple's trade-in programme does not accept current-models. As such, until your iPad is superseded, trade-in won't be an option. When trade-in does become an option, the potential value will be significantly less than you paid.

As such, selling an unwanted iPad privately will likely be the only way to recover a significant proportion of the purchase cost.
