Moving files from old phone to new via icloud

That's Apple's recommended method.

I'm not going to make any guarantees – but it sounds like

• That should work for things that are synchronized through iCloud, and that you were synchronizing through it on the old phone.
• This isn't going to transfer things that were not being synchronized through iCloud. Presumably that would have been a reason for setting up the new phone by using Quick Start, or by restoring a backup. However, restoring a backup would probably overwrite whatever is on the new phone, and I'm not sure what Quick Start would do now.
