Air tags luggage in another country

I’m just wondering, as this has happened to me previously when I travelled, if my luggage is separated from Me and is just say in another country, will the AirTags let Me know of its location. Last year I travelled to a new country and my luggage was left behind by the airport staff in the originating country we could not find iur bags for days and I’m just trying to eliminate this happening again.

Yes, the AirTag will notify you of its position but only when someone with an iPhone will pass close to the luggage (30 ft or less).

AirTags rely on the Find My network to relay their position. This requires another Apple device (iPhone) to be close by to do the relay.
