If MagSafe charger has the problem, can I charge USB Type C instead and it's effect to battery or not?

The Mac does not care where its operating power comes from. if your Mac has the capability to be powered over USB-C, it can alternatively be powered by any USB-C Power Delivery device that has enough capacity, including a USB-C connected DISPLAY that supplies enough power to run.

The CHARGER is inside the Mac. Apple deliberately calls that blocky device you plug into the wall a POWER ADAPTER.

Your Mac can only charge while running when 'whatever power source you are using' provides an excess of power, so that there is extra power, above what is needed to run, to support charging.

Most 'ordinary' USB-C cables can carry only 60 Watts by default, and that may preclude charging-while-running. Premium USB-C cables can carry up to 100 Watts power, and new Super-Premium cables can carry up to 240 Watts power. Check the cable capacity to be sure.

The highest capacity standard power adapter for the 16-in MacBook Pro can provide up to 140 Watts power to support Fast Charging over MagSafe-3..
