MacBook Pro 16 inch 2021 charging MagSafe

Is it normal that when you plug in your MagSafe charger that it shows a plug symbol for a couple seconds before charging? Thank you.

MacBook MagSafe not charging I charge my Mac the whole night and it shows that it is charging on the mag safe light but then 12 hours later it is on 17% and even though the light is on the mag safe charger it says that it is not charging so how do you suppose I use it for school in 15 minutes?

Yes, the computer must negotiate with the power adapter before charging can begin. This usually takes a few seconds.
