When will Apple Intelligence be available in Europe?

Apple has suggested due to EU regulations, Apple Intelligence won't be coming to the EU. Since the Netherlands are in the EU, that would indicate AI won't be coming to you when it it released. Beyond that, we have no more information as this is a user to user only forum, which no one from Apple participates or will comment.

No, for now at least you will not get Apple Intelligence. Whether Apple can or will ever make it available in the EU is something no one here, who are all just your fellow users, will know. It appears that it would take alterations to the EU's Digital Markets Act, but that's uncertain since only Apple knows the full depth of the issue. We'll just have to wait and see, but for the foreseeable future at least, I very much doubt it.

Apple Says That

“Apple Intelligence first launches in US English, and will quickly expand to include localised English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK in December, with additional language support — such as Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish — coming next year.”

Now they mention France and Spain, which are part of the European Union 🇪🇺 which means we might be getting it next sometime year.

Apple will not compromise users security or privacy to introduce a feature in the EU that will be required to be made available for access by other devices. It will be up to the regulators in the EU to make a decision if it will violate the DMA rules put in place there. They have been down that road before.

It's not even available in the U.S. yet, let alone Europe. It will be weeks until it even released at all. And it will come in phases over the next year. So too soon to fretting about anything involving Apple Intelligence.

No, they mention the French and Spanish languages. There are many countries in the world that speak one of those two besides France and Spain. Apple has made it clear that for the foreesable future, Apple Intelligence will not be available in any EU country.

I thnk people forget that, especially with Spanish. Mexico has the largest number of Spanish speakers. Spain is fourth on the list. Seven of the ten countries with the largest French-speaking populations are not in the EU. And, of course, the country with the largest population of Portuguese speakers isn't in the EU, either.

It won't be available and there are no plans to make it available. Also all the other best features like screen mirroring and the new shareplay won't be available. I was also gonna upgrade from an iphone 13, but saw no point without the new features

At least they said they’re trying. Just hope they get it worked out and see if having changing phone language and region settings maybe change anything. (I think if you set region to United States you do get the features)

Yea I mean if we want phones that take advantage of transformer based artificial intelligence in Europe we need to buy google?

Why is google compliant but Apple not? If anything Apples appears to be more likely to comply with EU law.

Only Apple would know the answer to that, and they are not here. Speculation on future Apple products is prohibited by the Terms of Use of these forums.

Apple Intelligence will not be available in the EU, for now. It looks like Netherlands is part of the EU. An European country not part of the EU (such as the UK) will have Apple Intelligence available to them, when it releases in October.

If you mean discussions between Apple and the EU, I believe that the sources are news sites, not anything official from Apple. At least I've not seen Apple say anything publicly, though I could easily have missed it.

In any case, there's no use in belaboring the point. As of right now, Apple Intelligence is not coming to the EU (nor China). What if anything happens in the future we'll all just have to wait and see.
