When will Apple Intelligence be available in Europe?

I pre ordered the iPhone 16 pro Max natural titanium, but I live in the Netherlands. So I’m wondering if we’re getting the new iOS features too like apple intelligence.

Apple Says That

“Apple Intelligence first launches in US English, and will quickly expand to include localised English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK in December, with additional language support — such as Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish — coming next year.”

Now they mention France and Spain, which are part of the European Union 🇪🇺 which means we might be getting it next sometime year.

Telling our government officials will most likely due absolutely nothing. Its not like they would make an exception in the DMA act just because of apple intelligence. Realistically at the speed and complexity of politics, change takes time and by the time such a change would even be close to take effect, apple has probably figured out a way to comply with the EU laws.

Will have to wait and see. Apple would not jeopardize their users privacy/security to comply with a law the requires them to allow other companies access where this information would be at risk. If Apple can make that happen, then you may see it sooner rather than later, but who knows what the EU will allow.

Over the course of the next year, Apple Intelligence will expand to more languages, like Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and others

This is from Apple. So I get that some of these languages are spoken outside of the EU like French is spoken by a ton of people in Canada or in African countries as well I believe.

But honestly German? That's spoken 80% in Germany and a few other countries around Germany that are also in the EU. So clearly Apple wouldn't work on a German version that will then be used by 15-20% of german speaking people. Same goes with Italian. Like most of Italian speaking people are in Italy, why would they develop this in Italian if it won't be used by people in Italy? This proves that they're surely working on bringing it to the EU next year.

No EU institutions have banned apple AI, there has not been any official ruling about it breaking any EU laws. Apple has not cited any specific paragraphs of any european regulations as being specifically the blocker beyond mentioning lack of clarity in terms of the required level of interoperability. Regarding privacy concerns, if everything that was said about apple AI in the keynote is accurate, it should pass any scrutiny in EU with flying colours.

Very bad move to pull AI.

Never before have I seen so many still available, normally the Pro models sells out within minutes in Sweden, there are still units to grab if you need a new phone, people are hesitating this time due to several features being pulled from the EU market.

Then let your government officials in the EU know you're not happy about their restrictive restrictions.
