Low battery notification is not appearing on my MacBook Pro
If the battery is low, ie 20% or 15%, the message will not appear, the notification above will not appear

The only warning provided by MacOS is when you have 2% battery power remaining and you're warned to plug in immediately or risk losing your work. You can request a low battery warning via Apple Feedback, maybe they'll add it (back) eventually.
In the meantime, you can use a 3rd party app that provides that, I use iStat Menus for that (and the system information it provides), there's also the free CoconutBattery that can provide a warning at your selected threshold.
