Using gift card with Apple Pay

If the merchant allows multiple payment types you should be able to enter your gift card and then complete payment using Apple Pay

if you’re trying to enter a gift card into the wallet, you generally cannot.

In the Apple Store App. select your profile (tap your account picture)

Then Apple Account balance to get the link to redeem your gift card.

Once added to your account, it can be spent

In the Apple Store app add the item(s) to your Shopping Bag. Open the bag, select Buy with Apple Pay, select Add a Gift Card, enter PIN, Done, Continue with Apple Pay, select Payment Card, double click side button to confirm with FaceID.

The gift card number is entered before the Apple Pay screen. Are you using the Apple Store mobile app or the website?

The Apple Store app doesn’t say that. It says up to 4 cards can be used with Apple Pay. Your screenshot is the website. Try using the app or call 1-800-MY-APPLE to complete the order.

You’re welcome. Yes, I suspect this is a restriction unique to China/Hong Kong. Different countries and regions will have different laws and regulations regarding the use of gift cards and many service that involve the exchange of funds, whether it be credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, bank accounts etc. I suspect that’s why our experiences were different.
