Siri volume is always loud when I use it.

I am on IOS 17.6.1 and I am using an iPhone XS. When I try to use siri, the speaking volume is extremely loud compared to the other things that I am listening to(I am normally on 6% volume, but siri talks much louder). I used to be able to use the volume buttons on my phone or headphones to turn down siri, and then next time I use siri, this will be the volume that it automatically uses, whereas now the volume change is only temporary, and when I use siri again, it ends up being back to a really loud volume. Does anyone know how I can turn down siri's default volume, or is there not a way on the newer IOS versions?

You may already know some of these tricks, but anyway... Siri's volume is independent of the system volume. To know Siri's current speaking volume, say: "Hey Siri, what's your volume?"

To set Siri's volume: "Hey Siri, speak at 50%." (or other %.) ...Or: "Hey Siri, speak louder / softer."

Or:

Whilst Siri is speaking, press the volume buttons up or down. (If Siri isn't currently speaking, ask Siri to tell you a joke or recite a poem.) Then next time, Siri should speak at the volume you've just set.
