Hi, I just purchased a new iPhone. The current iOS version is 17.5.1. Currently, there are two updates available. The first one is 17.7 and the second is 18. Is it necessary to update 17.7 before updating 18? Do you think I can update straight to 18?

No, but it would wise to do this unless you just have to have iOS 18 today, knowing that there will likely be another iOS 18 update in 7-10 days to catch some bugs.
