Can I have an iPhone 14 Pro and New Phone 16 with same number?
Please provide any experience or tips for this before I switch devices. Thank you.

It's not possible in the U.S. Each mobile number is associated with one SIM. Carriers strictly enforce this 1) to prevent cloning fraud, though that was largely stamped out around the turn of the century, and 2) because they want the revenue from two numbers. The exceptions are for devices like the Apple Watch, and the carriers charge you for that, too.

That would be a question for your carrier.
Most carriers move the line to the new iPhone and remove it from the old one, and while you can forward text messages and calls over Wi-Fi via Continuity, the old one, it will not have cell service any more.
If you need to continue to have cellular service with the same number on both devices you would need to ask your service provider if it is possible to retain the number and service on the old iPhone.
No, you can't. A given phone number is tied only to a single phone. You can move the phone number to your new iPhone, but you can't then keep it on your old phone as well.
Regards.
