How to Fix iPhone 13 Pro Mirroring Issues in iOS 18?

Updated my iphone and macbook to the latest versions of the operating systems, but iphone mirroring does not work. Turns out that ios 18.0 settings simply don't have this option. Both macbook and iphone have WiFi (on the same network) and Bluetooth enabled.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I did all the basic things - reset network settings and log out of Apple ID, rebooted the devices, connected them via cable. Nothing helps.

Ran into similar issue where mirroring worked for the first time, but started timing out from the next time.

Also, could not see the setting on iPhone.

Turns out that "iPhone Mirroring" setting under General > Airplay & Continuity DOES NOT show up until a Mac initiates a mirroring request.

For me,

(1) Running following command on terminal

defaults delete com.apple.ScreenContinuity

(2) Deleting file

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenContinuity.plist

Reset the faulty setup.

It worked just fine post that.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, same issue I have MBP m3 with MacOS 15 and iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 18 but screen mirroring doesn’t work, same iCloud account as well, tried logging out of iCloud and all that jazz. Weird thing is other continuity features still work like the Universal Clipboard. Even weirder I see websites say that the iPhone will have a setting under Settings < General < Airplay & Continuity < IPhone Mirroring. But I don’t even have that setting so idk what’s wrong.

Same problem. Turns out that, in my case, since my account has 2 iPhones it was toggled to the wrong one in System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Widgets > iPhone. When I toggled to the correct phone a couple of times and then restarted the phone, it allowed me to start and complete the joining process. Maybe this will help you or others.

Allowing all the incoming connections on Mac firewall is what resolved the issue for me I also followed some other suggestions from this article 7 Simple Fixes for iPhone Mirroring Not Working on macOS Sequoia, my face ID was not set initially which I didn't know was the need for this feature but thanks god it is now working fine.

I am getting the exact same message. My macbook pro is a 2020 m1. My iphone is 15 pro max. Both are connected to the same wifi, and loge into the same Apple id. I have tried resetting and restoring, nothing helps so far. By the way, my ipone is updated to ios 18 release. But no joy!

I finally fixed it:

I was able to fix this by:

“defaults delete com.apple.ScreenContinuity”

And

Deleting: “~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenContinuity.plist”

Give that a shot!

I should have been more clear.

For step #1, open the /Applications/Terminal.app and copy/paste the first line:

defaults delete com.apple.ScreenContinuity <hit return>

For step #2, goto Finder and type Command-Shift-G

Paste in there: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenContinuity.plist

Move to trash and reboot.

This should fix your problems...

I’m facing the same issue. I made sure I’m logged into the same account on both the iMac and the iPhone. I also made sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled. The iMac is updated to the latest version 15. I signed out of the account on both the computer and the phone and logged back in, but the problem still persists.

I've tried all of it, but it still doesn't work. The Mac shows connecting to iPhone 13 Pro and then shows an error msg saying - 'iPhone not found' ensure the phone is near the Mac with the Wifi and Bluetooth turned on (which I have checked and am connected to the same network!)

Anyone can help me with this? Thanks in advance.

I just got it to work, so I logged out of icloud on my Macbook again, and reconnected the account, I turned off my phone then went in to the iphone mirroring app and it works now, both my laptop and my phone were connected to the same internet as well. But other than that I don't think I did anything else that was different.

I solved this problem (after months of fruitless attempts) . I don't see my solution mentioned anywhere in this thread so wanted to share.

Unrelated, I happened to be reading a support article for Apple Intelligence when something caught my eye.

When I read the line about `Device Language and Siri Language set to the same

supported region` it sparked a thought. I suddenly recalled that a couple of months ago I was goofing

around changing my iPhone to different Regions and giving Siri different accents.

I opened my iPhone to check and sure enough, the region was set to `Canada`. I changed it back to `United States` then used these commands to reset `iPhone Mirroring.app`. I started the setup flow and it started working again.

kill -9 "$(pgrep -f '/System/Applications/iPhone Mirroring.app')" 2> /dev/null
defaults delete com.apple.ScreenContinuity
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenContinuity.plist
open '/System/Applications/iPhone Mirroring.app'

I'm SO happy to have this back.

I had testing using iPhone 12 but got a new iPhone 16. Where I had setup the new phone via the transfer from my original iPhone. When I tried to connect use the iPhone Mirroring I could not get it work on the new phone. Sadly the old phone was wiped and given to a family member. But just as I found this article I did the reset network settings on the new iPhone. As soon as I reconnected my iPhone to the WIFI the setup iPhone Mirroring initial setup window appeared in the iPhone Mirroring app on my Mac. Prior to this I had tried power off the phone for a minute with no luck.
