How to Fix iPhone 13 Pro Mirroring Issues in iOS 18?

Updated my iphone and macbook to the latest versions of the operating systems, but iphone mirroring does not work. Turns out that ios 18.0 settings simply don't have this option. Both macbook and iphone have WiFi (on the same network) and Bluetooth enabled.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I did all the basic things - reset network settings and log out of Apple ID, rebooted the devices, connected them via cable. Nothing helps.

Ran into similar issue where mirroring worked for the first time, but started timing out from the next time.

Also, could not see the setting on iPhone.

Turns out that "iPhone Mirroring" setting under General > Airplay & Continuity DOES NOT show up until a Mac initiates a mirroring request.

For me,

(1) Running following command on terminal

defaults delete com.apple.ScreenContinuity

(2) Deleting file

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenContinuity.plist

Reset the faulty setup.

It worked just fine post that.

Hope this helps.
