How to remove reminders linked to Calendar?

I have upgraded to ios18 and iPad 18 and now my repeating reminders are in my calendar

I do not want this I want reminders and calendar to be totally separate as they were in ios17

I cannot see any way of doing this except to use google calendar app

I DON’T like this change. Super distracting from calendar info when I have 198 reminders. And have yet to find understandable instructions on how to get Reminders off my Calendar app.

The instructions have been given several times in this thread. But here you go:

  1. Open Calendar
  2. Tap "Calendars" at the bottom center of the screen.
  3. Untick "Schedule Reminders"

I'm not sure how to make it any simpler than that. However, it you have problems, please post back exactly where you get lost.

I have tried turning off reminders in calendar by following the many posts in this thread. When I hit the Calendars button, the only option I have is "Show Completed Reminders" -- on or off. There is no way that I can see to turn off showing uncompleted reminders. Anybody know a way to turn off all reminders in the calendar app? BTW I have the non-beta, full 18.0 release if that makes a difference.

I only have the upgrade loaded on my iPhone and I don't know what you mean by sidebar. Maybe only the iPad has a sidebar. I did find the "Completed Reminders" option on the iPhone by clicking Calendars at the bottom of the Calendar app -- but that only turns of completed reminders, non all reminders which is what I want to do.

Does anyone know how I turn of notifications from this thread?
Go to the original post. Look just below it and to the right. Click on the blue bell icon. When it turns into just an outline, you have unsubscribed.

It should, but unfortunately unsubscribe doesn’t work sometimes. The techies in the back room are working on fixing it.

NONE of your passwords are gone. They were moved to a separate app called Passwords.

Mail hasn’t decided what you should see. But you may have installed a mail filtering app.

But if you truly think android phones are better, the only sensible thing to do would be to get one and find out for yourself. There are only users in this forum, and none of us cares how you spend your money or live your life.

Thank you so much! You are a lifesaver. This has been bothering me since I updated my phone, idk why they thought to make that the default. Thank you.

Manufacturers frequently make new features defaults, because, as no one reads release notes, you wouldn’t know the feature was there if they didn’t make it obvious. And the reason the feature is there is because they received a sizable number of requests, some of the quite virulent, asking why the H*** doesn’t the iPhone show Reminders in the Calendar like Android does?
