If you were to swipe left your phone should take you to the Apps Library. You can also use spotlight search to find the app you are looking for.

if searching does not work you may need to restore your phone in DFU mode using your Mac or PC.
Which App icons?
Lots of them. Can’t tell exactly what because I can’t see them. But you can see in my image that there are loads just showing as black squares
I had the same issue. Restarted my phone, more apps looked like blank boxes but after 2 min everything went back to normal.
But that doesn’t solve the issue of them not appearing on the Home Screen. It seems to be one of the big list of bugs in the amateurish ios18
