Updated my phone to ios18 today and now my shared links and photos in individual text messages are gone. Where did that option go? If this has disappeared completely this is a completely bad and faulty option on Apple’s part to get rid of. Please help tell me how to get that back.

Found it! At the top right hand corner of the photo app next to the button for Search, is your profile pic. Click on your profile pic and it will show you the “Shared with You” and “iCloud Links”.

Accept the new terms and conditions for the latest update if you haven’t already
Here’s the fix:
Go to Settings>Apps>Messages
Click on Siri and turn all those settings off and then back on again.
Then go back to the previous menu and click on Search. Turn all those settings off and back on again also.
Now when you go back to your photos in your messages, you will see a message saying the phone is indexing all your messages. Give it some time. It might take a few hours or even a whole day, but all your photos in your messages should come back eventually.
Which apps setting do you go into to get into messages then Siri?
Because I dont have just a plain “apps” option.
im still trying to figure out how to navigate through the last update.
so aggravating, and stupid. Especially when I had important documents and links that I have to reference on a frequent basis.
I have tried both methods mentioned above on my iPhone 14 and neither have worked. Some of the things mentioned are not even an option under the category for me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I utilized this feature so much in my day-to-day activities.

It’s very frustrating and I’m not completely happy with that, I hope it’s a glitch and if not they better bring that feature back. That’s very poor planning on their part if they got rid of it
I’m having that same issue!!!! And I backed everything up before updating!!!! I hope to god it’s not a fully gone thing! Because I will have to have it reshared :(
This is happening to me! I even upgraded my iCloud storage not too long ago. That was a mistake. I can’t see the links I sent to people, like recipes 😭
This is happening to me also and I am NOT happy about it. All my photos with friends and family in the text threads are gone! I sure hope this is a bug and they fix it.

Go into your phone settings. Scroll all the way down and you will see the “Apps” menu.
