MacOS Sequoia installed. Internet will randomly drop connection

Hi

I have a an M2 Max Macbook Pro with 32Gb of RAM. I installed MacOS Sequoia today. After installation, I started getting intermittent random internet connection/server busy messages on a black screen and this will go on for say 30 seconds or more and then randomly it will be back to normal again.

I have restarted the macbook pro. I have restarted the docking station. I have removed the ethernet cable connected and reconnected it after restarting the docking station. I still get the same problem showing up randomly.

Any suggestions?

As I noted in another thread, this is a widely reported bug in Sequoia (just google intermittent internet connection Sequoia). As stated, on that thread and here, turning off the built-in firewall usually works, it did on my 2019 intel imac and 2023 mac M2 studio. If you have a managed mac and cannot turn of firewall no good options that I know of. Interestingly, the packet filter (PF) firewall app MURUS works just fine on both my computer's but not the built-in firewall setting when enabled. Curious since Murus is just a GUI app for macOS built-in PF firewall.

It has not fixed the issue. I still randomly have the network seem to drop, when all is fine. I can be streaming a video from Youtube or something and then have my Teams app report that the network was lost, my email will stop sending and receiving...but the the video is still streaming beyond a buffer. Seems like DNS config, some combination of flushing cache and preventing nslookup or something. After about 1 or 2 minutes it will return. Weird thing is that if it happens when I am in a Teams or Zoom call, I get bumped out for a few minutes...so different behavior than streaming video vs. streaming collaboration.

I'm on an M2 Macbook Air as well, and have just upgraded to Sequoia 15.3

As of this morning, my internet connectivity has been almost zero, and I had to track down this comments thread on my mobile phone, because the browsers on my Mac no longer worked (and I'll spare you the diatribe about how that affects my work...)

Then of course, as soon as I found this thread, my browser connectivity seemed to pick up again. Very concerning, nonetheless.

Thanks for the input. Are you referring to the adapter within the Mac Studio? Wouldn't surprise me to discover Apple uses cheap components but I'd hope not.

When you "remove" the adapter as referenced...are you referring to selecting "Delete Service", "Make Inactive", or something different?

I'd note during these periods when my Mac Studio- with Sequoia- inexplicably disconnects and all Internet activity is broken, I've turned off Ethernet (thereby making WiFi the lone connection) and the issue isn't overcome. I've also turned off WiFI (thereby making hardwired Ethernet the lone connection) and this doesn't solve the problem either. Thus far, only a restart will restore the connection needed for Internet access. It never happened before "upgrading" to Sequoia but, although unlikely, could be a coincidence.
