Where is Camera Roll after iOS 18 Update?

So I appreciate many of the features in the new iOS 18, with photos getting a huge redesign, but where did the camera roll go? For more than 10 years I’ve moved photos from my camera roll to folders on my laptop, then sync about half back to my iPhone. Before the bashing starts I do this for a few reasons - it allows me to backup my photos multiple ways, by only syncing about half back I

can keep pictures that I don’t necessarily want taking up storage (especially videos), and I can better organize them in folders. Any help? Thanks.

I’m having the exact same issue. I had 400 pics on my camera roll and now they’re gone? How can I get these back?

For the 10th time, no it isn’t! It’s anything you’ve saved - screenshots, pics from text, pics from the internet, etc., but it’s NOT pics you’ve taken. If they’d just add that, then it would solve our issue!

There is a Pinned Collections group. In that group is Recently Added. That is where my Camera Roll would up. It acts just like Camera Roll.

In the bottom left corner of the Camera app is a square preview of a previously taken photo. If you click on that, it will bring up a reel of photos that used to be in the Camera Roll.

No it does not act just like the camera roll. I'm seeing pictures in here that are from years ago syncing from my PC, the camera roll should only hold pictures I have not synced from my PC yet.

This is not helpful, yes it pulls some my camera roll pictures, but it also pulls up a bunch of other pictures that are not a part of my camera roll pictures. I only want to see temporary pictures on the camera roll, not pictures that are syncing from my PC.

Go to Photos:

You’ll see 4/5 of the screen (upper side) filled with recent photos. I know you want everything to be there even if it’s not taken by you. Whatsapp, gopro, editing apps, everything in a timeline. Press the “up/down arrows button” located on the lower left —> Sort by Recently Added.
