Bluetooth connectivity issues with FreeSTyle LibreLink sensor

After working flawlessly for over 2 years, one day my iPhone SE (with the A15 chip) stopped connecting with my FreeStyle LibreLink sensor. This is used to continually measure my blood sugar level. All other bluetooth devices, both Apple and non-Apple are still working nominally. I have had to revert to my older iPhone SE to continue using these sensors.

My phone is currently at iOS 17.7 (both the iPhones are)

I've reloaded the FreeStyle LibreLink application, not once, but twice on the recommendation of the manufacturer without seeing any change what so ever.

This is frustrating simply because the later iPhone (call it the 3)(with the A15 chip) is the 5G that I travel with and prefer to have it be the device continually tracking my sugar level. As it is now I have to carry two phones....

Is there a solution for this??

To repeat, the iPhone continues to connect via bluetooth to all other devices; vehicles, speakers, air pods, etc., just not to the sensors. The previous model, call it the iPhone SE 2 continues to work 100% with bluetooth connectivity, on all devices.

iPhone SE, iOS 17
