After upgrading to Sequoia, I've noticed my desktop widgets being flaky. At first they were there, then they simply disappeared. I've noticed that I can't click on the time to get the Notification Center to come up and that the Notification Center process isn't running. I've tried to start it with launchctl , but I get Input/Output errors. Anyone else seeing this?

I had this issue and found a solution so just wanted to leave it here for anybody that may stumble upon this.
Navigate to
`~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.UserNotifications/Library/UserNotifications/Remote/default`
There delete everything inside... I didn't have to restart the computer but you might have to.
It was terrible not to have any notifications! Also, if you installed any new apps and they request notifications they basically hang and eventually crash so this is a very painful bug.

You probably need to make sure that hidden files display on Finder to see it.
Try opening your home folder in Finder... then press command + shift + period ("cmd + shift + .")
You should notice a bunch of hidden files (blurred) show up including the home Library.

Certainly have rebooted several times. Interestingly, while I was away from my machine for a bit, Notification Center appears to have started working again. Widgets are back and I can click on the upper right to see notifications. No idea why it started working out of the blue.
After coming back for a bit yesterday, Notification Center crashed again.
I did a safe boot yesterday as well. Didn't seem to help as Notification Center crashed upon "real boot". It actually seems to stay on before networking becomes active.
In Console, I see several Crash Reports for Notification Center. I have no idea if they get transmitted to Apple or not, since I've not been asked if it can.

Additional Update...Still can't figure out why things aren't working but in addition, Mail.app isn't updating the inbox until you either close the window or navigate to another folder and navigate back and Adobe Creative Cloud is hanging.
I'm only adding this here because, I'm wondering what not having the notifications working is also making other things in the system angry.
When I first installed Sequoia notifications were working, they seemed to stop after I setup iPhone Mirroring.
Same. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. The weird thing is that notifications from my iPhone (13 Pro Max) work on my Mac, but system notifications don’t. I’m using a 2020 M1 Mac running macOS 15.0.1 (24A348).
I did create a new user. And it was super annoying. And it worked for a few days, until today, when my M1 iMac stopped showing notifications and the whole Notification Center crashes if I try to open the Notifications System Preferences.
I am having the same issue but unfortunately when I navigate to this path, the Remote folder is empty. No default file at all. I assume I could make an empty file simply called default and that would potentially fix the issue? What is that default file type?
I tried this got to Remote but it is empty- no default found. I try to open excel and get The application “Microsoft Excel” can’t be opened. the error message inside error report says "EXC_CRASH","signal":"SIGKILL (Code Signature Invalid)"},

As an update, Notification Center has been up and running all morning just fine. No idea why compared to the last two days. Fingers crossed.
This is not working on my Silicon Mac Studio 2023. Tried booting in Safe Mode too. On top of it, Feedback is not allowing me to sign in to submit this as a bug.
I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro and I am also having this issue.
Interesting note: As well as not getting notifications, the notification panel in System Preferences also does not load.
Same experience as EgonX... Additionally TouchID on my "Magic" Keyboard stopped working as well :-/
