shows that they were ‘replaced’.
That means the serial number is tied to a device that was deemed defective or damaged and was replaced by Apple without the original being returned as required,
or
the device was reported lost or stolen in transit
or
The serial number has been used to manufacture counterfeit devices.
Apple won’t touch them under any circumstances. Even if they are “real”, they are unsupportable.

They are almost certainly fake.
It’s not possible for you to have purchased “brand new” AirPods on eBay at all. eBay is not an authorized retailer and no Apple authorized retailers sell Apple products on eBay.
