How do you overcome Call Failed Error when using iPhone Mirroring - Not able to make phone calls

I was so excited about iPhone Mirroring in Mac OS Sequoia, because it is such a pain to switch headphones whenever you're switching in between. However, as it happens, every time I try to dial out on the phone, I get a "Call Failed" error like in the picture. No explanation. No help with troubleshooting.

I have tried all the remedies I have found on the web, including 1) Restarting both phone and Mac, 2) Resetting network settings 3) Ensuring that we are on the same wi-fi network 4) Ensuring that there is no more up-to-date versions of IOS, MacOS, or Carrier.

I am on a iMac M1 (2020) with a iPhone 12 Pro Max on AT&T in the United States.

How do you overcome this error?

Yes, Apple recognized this as a bug and fixed it with macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 (24A348) on 10/05/2024. Update to this version release to fix.
