iPad Air M2 gets extremely hot when using Auto Refine Handwriting

Need help! My iPad Air M2 becomes extremely hot near the front camera area when using the Auto-Refine feature in Notes with the Apple Pencil Pro after the iOS 18 update.

Ipad gets very hot very quickly when using notes app to handwrite notes I have just bought a brand new M2 iPad Air and after about 10 minutes of using the apple pencil pro to take notes in Apple Notes, the iPad gets scolding hot, this doesn't happen in other apps like Goodnotes after an hour of writing. I have seen others say the same thing and This is very unfortunate because the new Notes features are very nice and I really wanted to use it as my main notetaking app, but it seems it is not properly optimized which is weird seeing as the Notes app is native.

Ipad Air M2 overheating with pencil pro Recently, I bought an iPad Air M2 six generation with a pencil pro and I am noticing that when I’m using apps like Freeform or Apple notes with handwriting, my iPad is getting hot close to the camera and even in some occasions, the brightness of the screen is getting lower automatically. I reviewed this issue on Internet, and I found that this is known issue since the iPad was released, however, that was a few months ago and multiple updates have been released so I believed that the issue was already addressed. Unfortunately, it seems not. Pd: as a consequence, the battery of the iPad is draining extremely fast while doing handwriting with pencil pro Am I right or there is way to stop this overheating issue at the moment? thanks in advance

I have a M4 iPad Pro and get huge battery drain with Auto-Refine switched on, plus it gets very hot. Switched it off and have a normal iPad now, but without a key feature I wanted!

I believe that it‘s normal after an update for an iPad to get hot in the beginning. Especially with new features like that. In any way, have a look in settings and then battery. Does it still say that there are setup steps in the background that are impacting thermals and battery drain?
