Screen time bug after updating to iOS 18.

As soon as I updated to iOS 18, my screen time notifications and limits started going crazy. When I checked in to the settings, it showed that my screen time was 13 hours (this would not have been possible as I was not on my phone for more than 1 hour that day). I scrolled back a few days and my screen time had also skyrocketed - anywhere from 10 hours a day to 21 hours a day. My screen time is usually no more than 3 1/2 hours a day, so this is weird.

This morning, I checked my screen time and it said I had 7 hours of screen time, even though my phone was powered off through the whole night.

(EDIT: I just want to add the things I’ve already tried to do)

  • Turn off and on the screen time settings
  • Power phone off and on
  • Force reset phone

How do I fix this?

Hello,

Yep same issue here, I've had this issue for the past few days, originally I that it was counting the apps running in the background, but then when I woke up at 2 AM, it said I was on my phone for 2 hours, apparently on Chrome, Maps, YouTube, Messages, and others, even though I was asleep and closed all the apps. Hopefully they fix/patch this bug/glitch in a future update.

I am also having this issue and I just recently updated my iPhone 15 Pro to

iOS 18. I even tried to keep my phone on Monday night (last night) and other than airplane mode to stop any notifications, the phone was basically on and it said that I used Settings for 11 hours yesterday. that does not match my battery use in hours. because of this bug, I am not going to update my iPad mini right now. I am deeply regretting updating to iOS 18 if I had known about this bug, I would not have updated my phone. I’ve only had my phone since May when I upgraded from my iPhone 8.
