Sequoia can’t see Nikon Camera connected to MacBookPro. Nikon software had been updated. It was working fine with Sonoma.

MacBook Pro has several ports. None of them can see the Nikon when plugged in. Normally use Nikon Transfer 2 to import photos on to the computer. Does not work with Sequoia. Nikon software has been updated via the Nikon website.

Resolved.

Go to System Settings > Privacy and Security > Files and Folders > Nikon Transfer 2 >

Set the access to removable volumes to blue/on

This resolved the issue for us.

Nikon Transfer 2 recognized the Nikon Z8 camera instantly.

Update: Camera is Nikon D750 connected by USB cable to USB hub. Also the latest MacOS 15.1 Sequoia cannot detect the camera. Also a direct connection to the MacMini USB port (no hub) does not work. The by Disk Utility or by any kind of app. The camera says its battery is fine.

Emphasis:

Sonoma and previous versions worked always, with the exact same physical setup.

In Sequoia the camera cannot be detected.

More update.

The Nikon D750 WiFi can connect to the Mac WiFi (system control panel shows it) but still the camera is not visible to any application (Nikon Transfer 2, Lightroom Classic or Disk Utility.)

Also the OS has no problem to see a memory stick or my backup SSD on a USB port, so USB definitely works.

I followed your suggested path and I do not have a Nikon Transfer 2 visible in my System Settings.

My work around to this and it seems a lot quicker is to use "Image Capture" to down load the files to my local drive and then import wha ti want into Lightroom. Even with the extra step it is much quicker and has not failed me.

Still can't figure out why I can't read my Z9, but am extremely happy with this new workflow.
