Does anyone else have an issue when hanging up a call and the person on the other line hangs it up first so you accidentally touch the screen to hang up but call someone else? It would be great if every time a call ended you went to a home screen because I find myself waiting for the other person to hang up so that I don’t accidentally call somebody (when trying to hit the hang up button)

Although it has not happened to me, I can see where that would occur. You should send feedback to Apple as it would seem to be easily prevented using the suggestion you offered or even a slight delay in touch events after the other person has hung up. In the meantime if it happens frequently, you can use the side button to hang up.
